🗽Couture du Jour

A fantastic vintage shop with reasonable prices. The owner, a cool woman who has been in Broadway shows, is so committed to the environment that the Couture du Jour bags are made from recycled paper. In this basement storefront along 44th Street, I’ve found a beautiful gown, a Gucci belt, a Wolford ensemble…

🗽East Village Organic

This supermarket — which has a soundtrack of groovy jazz — carries only organic products. You can find the most delicious paleo-responsible and vegan snacks at East Village Organics. It also features a juice bar.

One of the ways this wonderful organization supports people living with HIV/AIDS is by selling secondhand clothes in stores all over Manhattan and Brooklyn. I’ve bought countless garments from excellent brands such as DKNY, Elie Tahari, and Diane Von Fürstenberg at friendly prices.

🗽New London Pharmacy

This Chelsea drugstore is on a mission to provide as much health as possible with medical services, homeopathy, and natural remedies. New London Pharmacy also sells environmentally conscious items such as plastic-free deodorant and non-toxic nail polish.

🆕🗽 Strand Book Store

Perusing used (as well as new) books at the flagship of the family-owned Strand Book Store, on Broadway just below Union Square, is a quintessential New York experience.

🗽The Missing Link

Located in the basement of the Showplace Antique + Design Center in Chelsea, this little shop sells countless vintage cufflinks — an inexhaustible source of beautiful “Cufflinks, Studs & Men’s Accessories.”
